I’ll be honest – I’m a warm weather dude who escaped the cold chains of New York years ago. So when people started talking about cold shock therapy, I was like… “I don’t know about this cold stuff.”
But then I tried the ice bucket challenge after my shower. First reaction? “I’M AWAKE NOW!” 😳

Last 30-60 seconds of your shower – turn it COLD! Or do what I did: ice bucket dump when you finish showering.

🛁 Intermediate: Ice Bath

Fill your tub with water and ice. Get ready to plunge!

🏆 Pro Level: Get a Cold Plunge

Under $200 gets you started (chiller can come later). 50-59 degrees is perfect for beginners.

📋 The Cold Plunge Protocol

🌡️ Temperature Sweet Spot

  • Beginners: 50-59°F
  • Optimal range: 46-55°F
  • My personal low: 38°F (but I level out in the 50s)

⏱️ Time Guidelines

  • Day 1: 30 seconds to 1 minute
  • Build up to: 2-3 minutes
  • My range: 2-5 minutes average
  • Don’t go crazy: I’ve done 25 minutes, but DON’T try that right away!

  • Medical recommendation: 3-4 times per week minimum
